What this is
Two replacement chains for 16” Craftsman saws: the 12 A corded CMECS600 and the 42cc gas S165 (CMXGSAMCN4216) and S160 (CMXGSAMNN4216). This pack is 16”, 3/8” low-profile pitch, .050” gauge, 56 drive links — the size Oregon lists for the CMECS600 (S56 / 91PX056G), and the size of the S165 / S160 factory chain 713-05276.
Check the gauge on your bar
Sources disagree on the CMECS600’s gauge. Oregon’s fit guides put it on .050” chain; some retailers describe Craftsman’s own CMZCSC16 as .043”. The number stamped on the tail of your bar settles it — this chain is for .050”.
Not a fit
- Craftsman S185 — the 18” version of the S165, with an 18” chain.
- Craftsman CMCCS660 (V20 cordless) — Oregon lists it on a .043” chain.
Fitting it
The CMECS600 has tool-free chain tensioning, and Craftsman’s manual says a replacement bar must be a 16” low-kickback bar with the tool-free tension assembly.
