Why you need the manual before ordering bar & chain combos
Your chainsaw's owner's manual contains the exact bar length, chain pitch, gauge, and drive link count. The bar and chain must be matched as a set — ordering separately without checking the manual often results in incompatible parts. Find your brand below, then search for your model number on the manufacturer's site.
Stihl bars and chains are model-specific. The manual lists the exact bar length, pitch, gauge, and chain part number.
Husqvarna manuals include bar/chain combo tables — always order bar and chain as a matched set.
Oregon's Find Your Part tool cross-references any chainsaw model to the matching bar/chain combo.
Echo chainsaws use Oregon-compatible bars and chains. The manual specifies bar mount pattern and chain type.
Poulan Pro manuals list bar/chain specs as pitch × gauge × drive links — all three must match.
DeWalt battery chainsaws use narrow-kerf bars and chains. The manual specifies compatible bar lengths.
Makita 36V cordless chainsaws use a different bar mount than gas models — check the manual for compatibility.
Milwaukee M18 chainsaws use Oregon-type bars and chains. The manual has exact part numbers for both.
Greenworks 80V Pro uses a different bar mount than 40V models — bars are not interchangeable.
EGO bar/chain combos are pre-matched. The manual lists compatible replacement sets by model.
Ryobi 40V chainsaws use 12" or 14" bars — the manual specifies compatible bar/chain combos.
Craftsman gas and battery chainsaws use different bar mounts — always verify in the manual.
