What this is
Two replacement chains for the Poulan Pro PP5020AV and PR5020 gas chainsaws running their factory 20” bar. The PP5020AV manual lists Poulan chain 577180501 for bar 577179801, and Oregon’s part finder gives the size for both saws: 3/8” pitch, .050” gauge, 70 drive links. This pack is the same size.
Factory bar or aftermarket bar?
Oregon lists its 70-link chains (D70, 72LPX070G) for these saws “for use with OEM guide bars”. For its own replacement 20” bar on the same saws it lists 72-drive-link chains. If your saw has had its bar replaced, count the drive links on the old chain before ordering: this chain only fits the 70-link setup.
Same size, other saws
The Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf on its 20” bar takes the same 3/8” .050” 70-link size; see our Echo CS-590 chain. Older Poulan saws don’t all share this pitch, so go by the model number and the old chain, not the brand.
Fitting it
The PP5020AV tensions with a side adjusting screw: loosen the bar nuts to finger-tight, adjust, then tighten them again. Poulan’s manual approves only the bar and chain combinations it lists, and the saw ships with a low-kickback chain.
