Doesn't fit

Kobalt KPS 1180-06 / KPS 2180-06 (brushless 80V) — Not confirmed. Kobalt has not published a manual for these saws, and Lowe's lists them with a 3/8" chain pitch, which would not match this 1/4" chain. (source)

Kobalt KPS 1040A-03 / KPS 1040B-03 (40V pole saw) — Commonly confused. Oregon puts them on 90PX040G: 3/8" Low Profile, .043", 40 DL. This is a different pitch, gauge and length from the 80V 1/4" 58-DL chain. (source)

What this is

Two replacement chains for Kobalt’s 80V 10” pole saws, the KPS 1081-06 and the Gen II KPS 2081-06. Kobalt’s manual lists Oregon chain type 25AP058X on bar 100SDAA041, and Oregon gives the size: 1/4” pitch, .050” gauge, 58 drive links. This pack is the same size.

Not the same as the Kobalt 40V chain

Kobalt’s older 40V pole saws (KPS 1040A-03 / KPS 1040B-03) also have a 10” bar, but they take a 3/8” low-profile, .043” chain with only 40 drive links. The two are not interchangeable. If your old chain has 40 links, you need our 10” .043” chain instead.

Fitting it

The KPS 1081-06 tensions with a side screw: loosen the bar cover knob, turn the tensioning screw clockwise, then retighten the knob. Kobalt’s manual says a warm chain should hang about 1/16 in. out of the bar groove.

Frequently asked questions

Does it fit the Kobalt 40V pole saw?

What about the brushless KPS 1180-06 or KPS 2180-06?

We couldn't confirm it. Kobalt hasn't published a manual for those saws, and Lowe's lists them with a 3/8" pitch in one place and the same replacement chain as the KPS 1081-06 in another. Count the drive links and check the pitch of your old chain before ordering.

What is the Oregon part number?

Kobalt's manual lists chain type 25AP058X on bar 100SDAA041. Oregon's current retail version is 25AP058G: 1/4" pitch, .050" gauge, 58 drive links.
